The second project is a ground-breaking short film starring David Beckham that supports the latest installment of the ‘Malaria Must Die – So Millions Can Live’ campaign, which launches on 3 December. Produced by RSA Films Amsterdam and directed by John Filipe, the new film shows Beckham in his late 70s sending a message of hope and optimism from a time in the future when we have eradicated malaria - one of the world's oldest and deadliest diseases. ‘Malaria Must Die’ was first launched in 2018 by non-profit organisation Malaria No More UK, with the objective of raising awareness of the disease, inspiring support and building a strong mandate for bold political action to end malaria for good. This is the third film from the Ridley Scott Creative Group for Malaria No More. Last year’s film with Synthesia showed Beckham voicing the experiences of nine malaria champions through video synthesis technology. The film had a reach of over two billion worldwide, and secured several awards including a Webby.
