Mswenko (pronounced m-swe-nkoh) isiZulu expression for swag, style, and attitude. Born from the streets. It is what you make it.

To launch the new locally produced, named and styled Ltd. Edition Volkswagen Polo Vivo Mswenko, a car designed for young South Africans to take on the streets, we took inspiration from the car’s design and created a campaign dedicated to the streets of SA.

We then collaborated with SA’s top street artist and fashion designer – YAY ABE and GALXBOY,
and created the #MswenkoChallenge, a crowd-sourced campaign for the youth, by the youth.

With minimal budget and more competitor brands in the category, we surpassed every KPI, from Link Clicks and earned media to sentiment and sales.

In the end, an audience who eats, sleeps and breathes Mswenko, now…drives Mswenko.
