Discount retailer chain Lidl is launching their largest marketing campaign in Sweden ever. The spots feature a Lidl employee preparing a dark store in the early morning. She soon discovers that she can bring the store to life through dance.
With the help of her colleagues, they dance until the entire store is lit up and the first customer walks in.
The music is a rewritten version of the American jukebox classic “You Can Have Her” by Roy Hamilton. The Swedish equivalent of the song is called “That’s Life”, which in the campaign has been rewritten to That’s Lidl. As the lyrics of the song suggests, the film acts as a tribute to Lidl’s joy of food and their goal of providing high quality food to low prices for the Swedish people. Lyrics translation: That’s Lidl That’s Lidl So much freshness you’ll find here. Why lose to all the others? No, keep your hard earned money. That’s Lidl That’s Lidl So much happiness you’ll find here Swedish groceries, for red prices Fill your whole shopping bag, in our store.
