Jack’s Spinal Muscular Atrophy means that he has spent much of his 19 years in a wheelchair. And watching his mates playing football in the playground was “heart-breaking”. But that heartbreak was mended when he started playing Powerchair Football. Jack is the hero of the latest film for Nissan by Dark Horses supporting the car manufacturer’ss’ Nissan Possibilities Project which is working to support under-represented groups in society. His eye-opening, heart-warming and tear-jerking story shows how his condition has negatively affected his life, but also how finally being able to play his beloved sport, has improved it immeasurably. A sport he is able to play to the highest level because of the work of Nissan and City in the Community, Manchester City's official charity partner that aims to support people across Greater Manchester by creating healthier lives through football. The car manufacturer has been working with the charity to help Powerchair footballers receive the equipment they need to play the game they love by donating a host of new Powerchairs. Nissan believes in a world with zero emissions and zero inequalities, and the brief was to show how through this new Nissan Possibilities Project initiative Nissan are using their resources, expertise and tech to enrich people’s lives, in this case improving the mobility of young Powerchair players and increase their enjoyment of the beautiful game.
