Volkswagen: Super Bowl Teaser
Volkswagen USA will advertise in the Super Bowl for the first time since 2014 as part of a year-long campaign from Johannes Leonardo that celebrates the brand's 7th anniversary of coming to the US. Exactly 75 years ago today, January 17th, 1949, two Volkswagen Type 1 vehicles landed on the shores of New York, marking the first attempt to sell the vehicle, better known today as the Beetle, to Americans. Seventy-five years later, the iconic automaker is celebrating its humble beginnings with a new campaign, part of which involves a notable return to Super Bowl advertising. The campaign, which VW says will recognise "those who have woven the brand into the cultural fabric of the US" and set the stage for the next era in its continued transformation, is planned to be a year-long holistic event. It will serve as a love letter to the American people, and an invitation to be part of Volkswagen's electric future. A 15-second teaser for the upcoming big game spot has been released, casting an eye on the introduction of the iconic Beetle to US soil.
