Bidyanondo’s Happiness Store emerged as a lifeline for the underprivileged, where they could purchase necessities at a subsidised price. However, the collection of funds can stand as an obstacle when taking a charitable initiative. Even though corporations have CSR funds, due to the high volume of their work, reaching out to them is not an easy task. To overcome this obstacle, Bidyanondo implemented the ‘Empty Shelf’ initiative. By placing empty shelves to be filled in front of offices of large conglomerates, paired with a letter describing the initiative, Bidyanondo has not only reached out to the corporations directly but also as a chain effect, other corporations have also reached out to Bidyanondo expressing their will to make donations and do good deeds for the people.
