To help Zippo maintain the relevance and drive purchase of the Zippo windproof refillable pocket lighter among the 18 to 34 year old target demographic, ad agency Brunner, in partnership with Rolling Stone Magazine and RealNetworks, designed and launched a microsite that celebrates Zippo Pocket Lighter’s longstanding connection with rock music. Titled ZippoEncore, the site lives within Rolling Stone’s website. Traffic to the site is driven by the offer of original, exclusive music content and the chance to win a Harley-Davidson Sportster Iron 883 Motorcycle. The exclusive content consists of two Rolling Stone “Original Performances.” Shinedown is the first band to be highlighted on the site and a second rising Indie act will be introduced later this summer. The site currently features four Shinedown videos and a free, downloadable track.
