Queensland Premier's Flood Appeal: Asian Australians
Using a TVC as the medium, group of Asian Australians are sending a message to their own communities, asking them to donate to the Queensland Premier’s flood appeal.
The TVC features five people speaking in their native language – Cantonese, Mandarin, Vietnamese, Khmer and Bahasa Indonesian. Sub titles accompany them in English. The idea of making a TV ad came from Sydney restaurateur Lee Ngann Ly. It was supported by the Australian Chinese Community Association and the Australian Chinese Forum. The creatives and production people who worked on the project donated their time and the use of their facilities. The TVC will go to air on SBS this weekend.
