Fitzroy developed an online test especially for Dutch travel agency chain D-reizen that allows you to determine how many days of vacation you need. The test is based on voice … read morerecognition, but can be done with a keyboard as well. D-reizen wants to use the test to draw attention to a special promotion going on that will allow you to double the number of vacation days you have booked. In order to make the test as truthful as possible, the available open-source code-based voice recognition was used. These codes analyze voices, much in the same way as online lie detectors do. The test is realistic, but the type of computer and the quality of the microphone or web cam participants use have an impact on the test.
To increase the computer quality of this stress test even further, a unique voice-over was used for the first time in history, namely the voice of Google Translate. To our knowledge, this has never been done before, and this gives the test a weird but also computerized character.
The test results can be shared with friends on Facebook, Hyves (Dutch community site) and Twitter. Results can also be compared with results throughout the rest of the Netherlands. At the time of this press release, nearly 100 people had participated in the test, and the average number of vacation days that Dutch people needed was 14.
