Auckland Philharmonia Orchestra: Soundtrack to Auckland

Embed Video
The government is reviewing the funding of New Zealand's orchestras and the Auckland Philharmonia Orchestra is fighting for a fairer share. The APO has a long history of collaborating with different musical genres and a wide range of community groups and schools. And every time they do, they enrich lives.

So how do they get heard?

The APO, via Colenso BBDO, Auckland, released a performance of Tchaikovsky's 1812 Overture as a single with the aim of getting the APO to #1. With remixes by famous artists Kids of 88, Luger Boa and Weird Together counting towards overall sales, it’s the first time the national music chart has been treated as an online petition with every purchase counting.

If they get to #1 the government will definitely hear them.
