MOEN: A Statement Piece for Your Bathroom: Weymouth
When a jewelry designer is looking for inspiration, a bathroom faucet probably isn’t the first thing that comes to mind. But with the launch of Moen’s new global style campaign, this could soon change.
The campaign is based on a simple premise -- just as a statement piece necklace can transform your look, a “statement piece” faucet can transform your bathroom. To bring this idea to life, Moen and The Martin Agency asked jewelry designers from around the world to submit sketches of statement piece necklaces inspired by Moen’s statement piece faucets. From these, four metal smith jewelry designers were selected who embodied Moen’s principle of thoughtful design: Sarah Loertscher of Seattle; Gina Pankowski, also from Seattle; Sarah Chapman of Minneapolis; Andrea Blais of Calgary and our director, Johan Perjus of B-Reel, Sweden. Perjus, along with the Mill NYC, helped bring the idea to life in TV and cinema, literally transforming the necklaces into faucets. The faucets not only served as inspiration for the necklaces but also the design of each bathroom and even the personality of the talent, Noot Seear, further re-enforcing the impact a faucet can have on your bathroom. Documentaries of the jewelry designers show “The Making of a Statement Piece,” highlighting the thoughtful design and craftsmanship that went into each necklace, which perfectly parallels the thoughtful design and craftsmanship that goes into each Moen faucet. Moen also commissioned limited edition pendant sized versions of the necklaces to be used as gifts.
