In this new campaign from David&Goliath for the California Lottery’s The Price is Right Scratchers, D&G created an unexpected :30 TV spot and series of social videos in an effort to bring the excitement of the iconic game show to life.
The TV spot – titled “Audience” – showcases a customer’s experience as he purchases the new The Price Is Right Scratchers. Faced with the task of choosing which price point to purchase, he turns to a live studio audience for help. In turn, they all scream different suggestions in an attempt to influence his decision – much like they do on the show. Another facet of the show is brought to life through a series of social videos that portray loose change as The Price Is Right contestants, characterized by their respective presidents. (Not only were these coin contestants vital figures in US history, they’re also terrific to use for scratching.) The campaign will run in local California markets with TV, radio, OOH and social elements. There will also be unique spots airing on gas station TVs, where studio audiences will chime in when consumers least expect it.
