Simone McMahon

I have recently relocated to New York, from New Zealand.

I studied communications at university, but to be honest, I wasn’t sure what I wanted to major in. But after learning that advertising creatives sometimes get to work sitting in beanbags, I decided to give that a go.

I started my career at Colenso BBDO in Auckland, and then joined Publicis Mojo Auckland before making the move to The Monkeys in Sydney. Like a siren, Auckland called me back, where I took a job at DDB, remaining there for 4 years until my recent move.

Creative highlights so far have included 2 silver and 2 bronze Cannes Lions, an in-book at D&AD, a wooden pencil at D&AD, a Bronze Clio and a Webby Award.

I am currently available as a freelance creative/copywriter/beanbag sitter.
