Grab: Grab The Missing

Top 6 this week
What if a delivery app could do more than just deliver food—what if it could help bring people home?

In Thailand, someone goes missing every four hours. Yet most missing person alerts are lost in social feeds—shared in hope, forgotten in the scroll. At the same time, Grab riders are everywhere—moving through the very alleys, neighborhoods, and markets where the missing are often last seen.

So we asked: instead of building a new system, what if we simply redirected the one already moving?

Grab The Missing turns over 100,000 Grab riders into Thailand’s first rider-powered, real-time missing person search network. In partnership with FM91 TrafficPro, we embedded verified missing person data into a plug-in layer inside the Grab Driver App.

Here’s how it works:

• Real-Time Alerts: When a rider enters a location linked to a missing person case, they receive an in-app alert with the individual’s name, photo, and case details.

• Eyes on the Street: Riders stay alert as they go about their delivery routes—passing through streets where others might not be looking.

• One-Tap Reports: If they see someone who might match, they can submit a report instantly. The information goes straight to FM91 and the authorities for immediate follow-up.

No extra apps. No disruption. No incentives. Just reimagining commerce infrastructure as a compassionate network in motion.

The idea didn’t ask people to pay attention. It gave them a reason to act.
