QUITPLAN: Down the Aisle

The spot opens as a movie trailer for a new romantic comedy called "Down The Aisle." The trailer tells the story of an over-protective father coming to terms with the fact that his happy-go-lucky daughter is getting married. But just as the trailer swings into the tender moment of the father walking his daughter down the aisle, it's revealed that this movie trailer is being played on a television set…in a hospital room…being watched by a cancer-ridden father and his twenty-something daughter. An art card reads: "If you're not planning to quit smoking, what are you planning?"

According to creative director/copywriter, Michael Atkinson, "Few assignments get as personal as this one. Both the art director and I lost a parent to smoking. I think we just instinctively created a spot we wished our parents could of seen."
