Virgin Atlantic: Taxi For TakeoffTop 6: May 3rd 2023
Fasten your seat belts and prepare for takeoff. To announce the arrival of its newest, most innovative aircraft on the NYC-London route, Virgin Atlantic gave New Yorkers a taste of the amazing experience customers can expect onboard in its new campaign “Taxi For Takeoff” by Lucky Generals New York. Celebrating the launch of its state-of-the-art, most fuel-efficient aircraft – the A330neo – on its JFK to London Heathrow route, the agency turned a London Hackney taxi bright red and surprised unsuspecting New Yorkers across the city. The taxi hosted The Points Guy Brian Kelly with a surprise guest, the one and only Virgin Atlantic founder, Sir Richard Branson. The new work is the latest chapter in Virgin Atlantic’s brand platform ‘See the World Differently’ and not only launches its latest aircraft on the most frequent, popular route between New York City and London, but it also drives the message that the airline offers an experience like no other as it targets New York consumers. The activation was captured in this fast-paced action packed film. Starting at Virgin Hotels New York City the content creators were taken on a personalized journey to notable Manhattan destinations, all while Virgin Atlantic’s iconic cabin crew gave them the premium Virgin Atlantic experience. Passengers were greeted with a Virgin Atlantic Ruby Slipper and afternoon tea, with the “Taxi For Takeoff” fitted out internally with inspiration by the A330neo, with built-in wireless charging pads, luxurious seatback screens, and signature mood lighting all whilst in the company of the esteemed Sir Richard Branson and iconic Virgin Atlantic cabin crew, who deliver brilliantly different experiences to customers. Virgin Atlantic gave two lucky New Yorkers who spotted and posted the #TaxiForTakeoff round trip tickets from New York City to London, along with an exclusive invitation to Virgin Atlantic’s ruby 40th birthday celebrations in 2024.
