Women's Refuge: The 17,680 Nights of July

The 17,680 Nights of July is the latest fundraising campaign for Women’s Refuge New Zelaand. It’s a big number, and an even more urgent need. Because that’s how many nights of safe, secure accommodation women and children escaping family violence need every month.


The hero mechanism for the campaign is an online 17,680-night calendar, where New Zealanders can book a Safe Night on behalf of a woman and her children for just $20.

The calendar was kept updated throughout the month, and surpassed its target. Thanks to generous New Zealanders, the campaign raised an incredible 26,219 nights, making it the most successful month of fundraising ever for Women’s Refuge.
