Prolam Y&R raised the idea that sign language could be useful as a hand exercise: it would amplify the community of sign language speakers and, in turn, it would serve to treat patients with rheumatoid arthritis that need this type of activity in their treatments. Thus, “Sign Therapy” was born, an exercise routine developed by medical professionals based on the movements of this language. The tool has been already incorporated by Me Muevo and Sordos Chilenos to its treatments, it is free and is available at www.terapiadesenas.cl , a website developed by Prolam Y&R + Wunderman Chile. Only in Chile the community benefited from this innovative resource reaches more than 590,000 people: 500,000 deaf who can easily communicate with more people and 90,000 patients with arthritis who, in addition to expanding their interaction possibilities, can prevent or improve the consequences of this pathology.
