 GUEST JUDGE /BEST AD OF THE WEEK   WORLDWIDE    May 29, 2023 13:08 (Edited: May 29, 2023 23:08)
BEST TV
Winner: Burger King 'A Little More Confusing'. A great follow up from an amazing concept and campaign we already knew in print ads. Very clever on updating the "Confusing Times" from adult people to even more confusing times now with children and their million questions that are in their heads all the time. Normally the follow ups are not as good as the originals but in this case everything is spot on. Great idea, really well executed with very good production, with flawless craft. A deserved winner.

Runner-up: Dove 'Cinthia's Battle'. After watching the other five TV ads very carefully I picked this piece to be my runner up. An idea with a theme that is on the table in these days but with a refreshing twist based on studies that show that girls don't see themselves reflected in the virtual world. Real beauty, virtual beauty.

BEST PRINT
Winner: Ikea 'Dining Room'. Straight away the best campaign of all the categories I had to judge here on Bestads. Great idea, perfect execution, very simple, very emotional and the copy "Proudly Second Best" is close to a masterpiece. I only got to judge one of the pieces of this brilliant idea but any of the other pieces of the campaign would also win it for me. A campaign that makes me jealous in a good way.

Runner-Up: I Like to Move It 'Pleasure Room'. An honest and funny ad for a moving company which is not easy. Well executed.

BEST OUTDOOR
Winner: CER 'The Lost Ride'. Very good idea with a great insight. Filling the seats available from driver's lessons is awesome, with a double benefit: helping people that have difficulties with various mobility issues and the impact on the planet. Bravo! If the impact of this campaign on both of those benefits was so good as the idea, the agency and client did a great job.

Runner-Up: Netflix Glass Onion - A Knives Out Mystery 'Mystery Billboards'. I liked the movie so it helped make my decision for it to be the runner-up in outdoor. It's a good teaser for a Netflix film and made the people thinking about what it was. A kind of a game for the fans.

BEST INTERACTIVE
Winner: Augmental 'MouthPad'. A great tech product that can help a lot of people and made me go research this product. It's very real and it's already making life better for many people.
The case explains very well the MouthPad and what it can do for a disabled person. The world needs more of this. The idea beyond the product is genius and the way to communicate is also good.

Runner-Up: ANP/WWF + Lisbon Zoo 'The Endangered Typeface'. Very good way to collect attention from the human world to what is happening with the wild life. The idea of the type fonts will be changing and evolving with the data is clever. And the craft of the type face and the case is great.
