Nathan Lennon

Biography

Nathan Lennon is co-founder of Hawke's Brewing Co., an independently-owned beer company, co-founded alongside David Gibson and former Australian Prime Minister, the late Hon Bob Hawke AC.

Hawke’s was launched in April 2017 and has since earned over $7M in nationwide media coverage, the most of any independent beer brand in the country.

Hawke’s had won multiple brewing awards, including gold medals for its Patio Pale and Underdog Session Lager at the Independent Beer Awards, as well as a gold medal and trophy for Hawke’s Lager (‘Best Australian Style Lager’) at the AIBA Awards.

Currently, Hawke’s is distributed in 2,000 licensed outlets in NSW, ACT, VIC and QLD.

The company has a charity partnership with Landcare Australia, Australia's largest not-for-profit environmental organisation, with contributions from beer sales helping to support various environmental projects throughout the country. To date, over $400,000 has been raised as part of Hawke’s give-back sustainability mission.

In April 2022, Hawke’s opened its 300 pax hospitality venue, The Bob Hawke Beer & Leisure Centre and Lucky Prawn Chinese-Australian bistro, which was awarded TimeOut Sydney’s ‘Best Casual Drinking Venue’ (2022), Beer & Brewer ‘Brewpub of the Year’(2022), and Australian Bartender’s ‘Best Brewery Bar’ (2023).

Prior to co-founding Hawke’s, Nathan was an internationally-awarded Creative Director at AdWeek’s ‘Agency of the Decade’, Droga5 New York, where he led work for Toyota, Motorola and Honey Maid, the latter of which earned international acclaim, including the advocacy of former President of the United States, Barack Obama.
