Every day, 1 in 5 West Aussies face food insecurity. In response to this shocking statistic, Foodbank WA and The Brand Agency have launched 'The Hunger Ghrelins.' So, what's a Ghrelin? Well, ghrelin is the hormone that tells your brain to eat when you're hungry. This is normal, but for West Aussies facing hunger, it's a feeling that won't go away, making them distracted, frustrated, and agitated. But there is hope. ‘The Hunger Ghrelins’ is the educational toy helping to feed hungry kids, drive donations and encourage conversation. People are also encouraged to share their Hunger Ghrelin on socials, showing how hunger feels for many. The campaign is brought to life not just through the toy but also with a tale of hunger, hormones, and hope portrayed across film, outdoor, radio, digital activations, an interactive website, social media and a concerted influencer and PR strategy.
