 GUEST JUDGE /BEST AD OF THE WEEK   WORLDWIDE    November 13, 2023 10:12 (Edited: November 13, 2023 21:12)
BEST TV
Winner: Coca-Cola 'The World Needs More Santas'. We are well into the Christmas season, and obviously, I could not avoid picking a good, cheesy, heartwarming Xmas advert. Coke always deliver epicness and meaningfulness. In a world saturated by sad news, a message like "The World Needs More Santas" is welcome. The use of multiple Santas and the truck makes it unmistakable Coke.

Runner up: John Lewis 'Snapper'. Creating a Xmas ad for John Lewis is not easy; it is highly anticipated and often the benchmark for the year. John Lewis' "Let Your Traditions Grow" campaign, the film's message is ultimately about evolving traditions in a quietly progressive tone. Contextually, it is a good message, as division and understanding are rising.

BEST PRINT
Winner: WOM 'The Real Horror'. Simple, contextual, straight to the point. We all add this face once or many times while returning from abroad.

Runner up: Global Action on Gun Violence 'The Lawsuit for Survival'.

BEST OUTDOOR
Winner: Tiger Beer 'Tiger Summer Puffer'. Going beyond traditional advertising by tapping into youth subcultures is always a win for me, but it is often misunderstood by the ad world but loved by the GenZ audience. Puffers are Gen Z's hottest obsessions but are unwearable in the tropics; made wearable by adding a cooling system fuelled by ice-cold Tiger Beer - it's a message about the intrinsic value of the product communicated in an intelligent way.

Runner up: The Central Council of Roma in Poland '#StopRomophobia'. We can learn from the past the prejudice caused by portraying a civilisation, race, or country... in a condescending manner and the damage it yielded. It is simply a good initiative that should not be ignored.

BEST INTERACTIVE
Winner: Heetch 'Greetings From la Banlieue'. This is an idea I wish I made. We all know how biased AI are and how often they paint a highly crafted picture but with the mind of an old bigot. This a great way to talk about misconceptions of what Paris suburbs are like and find a solution to rectify the bias.

Runner up: Delsey Paris 'Eternal Sunrise'. Who doesn't want to see an eternal sunrise in picture-perfect locations?
