BlueMotion is Volkswagen's more environmentally-sensitive range. For the print campaign, Ogilvy, Cape Town asked our client to put their money where their mouth is, by donating part of their very expensive advertising space to small, eco-focused non-profit organizations who really needed the exposure. The non-profits benefited from getting their message out there, and BlueMotion proved itself as a brand that doesn't just talk, but takes action.

The project marks the 20th Anniversary of the fall of the Berlin Wall, and comprises 8 Street Art Installations telling heroic stories of those who dared to go beyond the notorious divide between East and West. 40km of Go Beyond Borders Tape was produced to define the original position of the Berlin Wall, and information posters with QR codes lead the viewers online to share their own stories. Integration with Google Maps lead visitors to other installations and sites around the city as well as archive images and video material which brought them even deeper into the story. The action also marks the launch of CNN International's new slogan: Go Beyond Borders.

New work from DDB Sydney and Film Company äht From the film co ... Perry Westwood directed DDBs new spot for the Colorectal Foundation entitled Conversation Killer. Getting guys talking openly about personal health issues is difficult enough but getting guys to let someone look up their back passage is probably one of the most challenging advertising propositions one is likely to encounter. The ad follows Rob, an everyday guy who in a series of cringing faux pas, graphically explains his more intimate areas and the perils of not getting screened for bowel cancer. Unusually for the subject matter this is a funny and subversive ad, designed to get everyone talking with a very serious call to action that could potentially save thousands of lives. Mother's strong new work for "Frank". Description ------------------------------------ The Frank campaign has been running for 4 years and has successfully positioned the Frank brand as the universal first port of call for young people and parents looking for help and advice with drug issues (2/3rds of all young people are aware of the brand and what it does). The focus of the 2006 campaign has been to raise awareness of the risks of Cannabis. The specific issue we face here is one of credibility. Research has shown that, because of the widespread use of cannabis, many young people do not regard it as a problematic drug and are not predisposed to listen to or accept anti-cannabis messaging. The communication challenge has been to find a message and creative idea that can: i) Arrest and engage a youth audience with sceptical / relaxed attitudes towards this specific drug. ii) Spell out the significant risks without resorting to extreme shock tactics / sensational messaging. iii) Remain true to Franks tonality - objective, entertaining, knowing - which has been proven to work to date. Creative Commentary ------------------------------------ The idea for the Brain Warehouse came from thinking about a time when you wouldnt have to worry about weed damaging your brain. A time in the future when getting a new brain fitted would be as common as replacing your mobile phone. The idea was to not make it Sci Fi but set it in a context that kids could relate to. Like a mobile phone or electronics shop. An empty shop was fully converted into the Brain Warehouse complete with fitting room and surgical instruments. Packaging was designed for over 20 different brains and assorted spare parts including cerebral fluid and memory stalks. Every product created catered to a specific symptom that cannabis users can suffer. From mood swings and paranoia, to puking and lack of motivation.
