After six years studying to be a solicitor and three years of practice, Dennis Koutoulogenis realised he still wasn’t very good at it and, much to his parents’ chagrin, made the leap into advertising, becoming dk shortly thereafter.
He worked at VCD, mojopartners and Batey/Red Cell before joining BMF in 2003. His work, including the iconic “Sam Kekovich Lamb campaign”, contributed significantly to the agency being named as B&T’s Agency of the Decade in 2010. As Creative Director for the past two years, he has helped guide BMF to the Mumbrella Agency of the Year title in 2011.
In 2011, he was named “Creative of the Decade” in the Campaign Brief Rankings.
Dennis left BMF at the end of 2011 to pursue other projects.
During his advertising career, DK has managed to pick up awards at D&AD, Cannes, One Show, New York Festivals, London International, Caples, Echo, AWARD, and all of the major local shows (although perhaps his proudest moment was gaining silver and bronze at the International Football Awards). He has also judged a number of local and international awards, tutored and lectured at AWARD School, Copy School and the Caxtons.
The product of a Greek father and Italian mother, DK speaks both languages (and some English). He is a mad keen football - it’s not soccer - fan, whose greatest sporting moments were Australia qualifying for the 2006 World Cup and Italy winning it (yes, he WAS at the Australia-Italy match in Germany, but he doesn’t want to talk about it).
He also watched far too much television as a child.
