This week's guest judges are Scott Harris and Damien Eley, who left Mother London in December after helping it win Campaign agency of the decade. They've now started their own agency called Mistress based out of Venice Beach, Los Angeles. Already they have written and produced a five-part TV series for Red Bull on Fox Sports Network, created a global TV campaign for ESPN, have a fashion label picked up by Urban Outfitters and are about to launch their own line of tandem bicycles 'The Mistress'.
BEST TVThis was a toss-up between
Bundy and
Ubisoft. The Bundy ad would've been a tough nut to crack, but they have managed to turn some facts about the product into a campaign that could not only run for a long time but be funny for a long time.
Ubisoft had the luxury of time on their side and used this to cover observations about gamers and wrapped these around truths of the game itself.
We're going with Ubisoft.
BEST PRINTOur pick for the best print ad was the tactical spring execution for
Perth Zoo. As simple as it appears, the ad has a promise and delivers it in a fresh way. A few of the other ads had one of these elements but none we felt had both combined as effectively as the jumping giraffe.
BEST OUTDOORThe fictional Finnish host for
Veikkaaja Sports Magazinewas our choice here. Not quite sure how this falls under the outdoor category, but it's the best idea of the bunch. Lots of moving parts across lots of different media, well thought out and seemed to genuinely capture people's imagination.
BEST INTERACTIVESome great ideas here. It wasn't an easy decision but we went for the
Save the Children website on the power of the insight. It was a simple user-experience that that still managed to engage. While some of the other campaigns cleverly used content and offered a more immersive experience they didn't seem to come from as strong an insight.
