BEST TV
Winner: Forest Road '
Just A Normal Beer'. Can I begin a sentence with LOL? Ok, I am. LOL! Everything about this ad is hilarious. From Wazaaaa to Beer-Kakee to Bosh - you can see how much fun the creators have had. The pop culture references, the witty dialogues, and the perfectly thought-out cast - they all come together, landing like a well-delivered joke. The ad is entertaining and fun, yet making it very clear that POSH Lager isn't just for posh people. (I wonder if Posh Spice was ever considered).
Runner-up: Picklebet '
Get Your Pickle On'. I've been watching this ad over and over just to catch every glitched out move and eccentric expression. The choreography is wild. The energy is infectious - almost reminds me of the Kenzo ad with Margaret Qualley. But this Picklebet one, is on steroids. I guess this is one of those ads that doesn't have to make sense, it just makes you happy. And it made me dance.
BEST PRINT
Winner: Phillips Stomach Antacid '
A Hard Blow'. With attention spans decreasing significantly, it's imperative for a piece of communication to really stand out and say what it needs to. This one does. The visual has punch and the headline is punchy. For me personally, it's more the headline 'Because there are some meals that can knock you out'. It says it all!
Runner-up: Governo de Goias '
Goias against tobacco'. When governments create awareness campaigns, they're meant to target the masses - anyone and everyone needs to get it. This is an example of a simple but sharp way to get a single-minded message across - Smoking is bad for your lungs.
BEST OUTDOOR
Winner: Museum of Toronto '
Last Duel'. I love the idea of revealing stories behind places that people pass by every single day! It's evocative. It makes you stop and imagine. It teleports you to a past you never knew existed. I wish my city had outdoors like these :) What a great way for a museum with no objects to get people to walk in!
Runner-up: Jetstar '
Reverse Psychology Sale'. Using reverse psychology to approach a sale is brilliant! It's fresh. It's fun. The bright orange luggage carousel, the 'Do Not Open' warning - everything about this experience has been designed to create delight, and you can clearly see it works. I like :)
