This week's guest judge is Cameron Hoelter, creative director of The Campaign Palace, Sydney, which he joined two years ago from Clemenger BBDO, Melbourne.Of the six selections this week, I've gone for Dulux 'Walls are dancing'. While not as grand as 'Let's Colour' it continues the same generous tone. And as a filmed stunt, the idea has a little more depth than most others of the genre. As chief creative officer, Ken oversees the creative direction at Y&R Chicago and works to integrate all mediums, turning great ideas into campaigns that feature digital, non-traditional, and traditional points of contact. He has created award-winning campaigns for Sears, Craftsman, Miller Lite, DieHard, Hilton Hotels, Orbitz.com, The Great Indoors, and Found Magazine. Favorite: MTV & Muse - MK Ultra. This was my favorite piece of the bunch. An elegant story reminding us that our decisions are filled with consequences; each taking a toll on lives all over the globe. Jim Haven co-founded Creature, with offices in Seattle and London, in 2002 and serves as co-executive creative director of the agency. He is in charge of keeping a 'Creature perspective' on the work, as well as energizing and enabling the agency to think in new ways.Ikea Cats. I'm not a fan of cats. But I have to say I like this spot. It's quiet and the performances are great. Wait, cats can't act. Which is why this spot works. There's an honesty about it and great advertising relies on the clever expression of truth. Richard Gorodecky is the executive creative director of Amsterdam Worldwide. He has spent the last 14 years creating international advertising campaigns for some of the biggest brands in the world including Nike, Coca-Cola, Chevrolet, Intel, Electronic Arts, Panasonic, Gore-Tex, Opel, Asics, Onitsuka Tiger, Pernod Ricard and Anheuser-Busch InBev.Dirty Fireman gets an insanity award this week. There isn't enough madness in advertising these days. We've all become a bit too grown up as of late. I can only hope this piece of work heralds a new dawn of things not really making any sense. With that in mind I won't comment on the great addition to Drench water 'brains perform best when hydrated' campaign, featuring the great 80s track 'Oops Up-Side Your Head', accompanying a man who cleverly sorts his head out on his way to work while drinking the increasingly popular mineral water and instead say how much I enjoyed the craft and humor in the latest addition to the Carlton Draught campaign... Renault has a really good idea at its heart yet still manages to get in the requisite car shots of the car looking gorgeous. For me though Puma just shades it, and though it could be accused of being a bit Nike-lite, the craft skills in this film are exquisite. Brett has written a bunch, from theatre and film to digital advertising. Along the way he's bagged a wall of awards, a new wife, and a baby. Recently he opened the New York office of London's archibald ingall stretton, a digitally-fluent global creative agency, together with a few very talented Brits and Aussies; there are a few Americans too. In his spare time (yeah right), he's managing a web series currently in production.Perhaps it's because I have adopted a YouTube mentality of 'give me entertainment, make it quick, wow me now...' but I loved the V Isokinetic spot of running with ladders. Lots of well crafted energy with a perfect music track. I needed a drink after it. (btw: look at their website, that's well done too.) Offering practical advice with an irreverent eye toward the history of advertising, the book was ranked by Advertising Age readers at #5 on the list of top 10 media and marketing books of all time. heywhipple.comOf the six videos posted, the Burn web film from Publicis Mojo Sydney is my favorite. I saw this thing last week on Twitter and immediately passed it along. It is hypnotizing. You know you're watching a good special-effect when you can't figure out how they did it. Rick re-joined Goodby Silverstein & Partners in 2007, after spending two years at Wieden + Kennedy Amsterdam as creative director on Coca-Cola. His work on Coca-Cola garnered global acclaim, most notably for the Coke Side of Life launch and 'Happiness Factory'.SpecSavers 'Submarine'. Just plain funny. And a great reveal. Made me wonder how real it was. If it's real and a creative team sold it to the client, got it produced to this level and on the air, brilliant. If it's fake, then, well shame on you. Because it's a really funny idea executed very well. But that's only because they're so damn good. Next time someone says advertising doesn't work, bring up Old Spice as a two word rebuttal. He joined Young & Rubicam in May 2008 to partner with global CEO Hamish McLennan. Love the simplicity of the both Amnesty international films (candle and Russian doll) both flawlessly excited and powerful. But I must say what did it for me was the Dodge film, specifically created to run in the England/America world cup game.
